Creativity = scatterbrain?

Today's post is about creativity = scatterbrain.

Background detail: I'm not a neat and tidy person. After a quarter of a century of life, I still struggle to keep things in their own place, especially in my bedroom.

I'm discovering that the more creative I become (thinking about my wips all the time, constantly plotting), the worse my organisation gets. Example: yesterday I found something I'd misplaced. I thought 'aha' and put it away. A few hours later, when I needed it, I couldn't find it. I searched a lot of places. I then stopped, prayed, and got on with life. 1 hour later I found it.

I'm diabolical for putting things down and forgetting where they are straight away or 30 minutes later or hours later. It's a worsening phenomena. I put it all down to my creativity.

For those of you who write, and those who know writers, are they just as scatterbrained? Do they try and work the tv with a cell/mobile phone? Do they try and put things away in the wrong place? Forget where things are?

I think we're all different, writers or not. I know that I am often scatterbrained only because I have my story on my mind SO MUCH. Always distracted... but normally I'm right on top of things. I think.

Yuna, you are my long lost twin. ;-) I thrive on being organized, having everything put away neatly. In reality, the more I've focused on my writing, the more entropy has won out over order. It's dangerous for me to walk around with things in my hands because I put them down and don't remember where I put them. And lets not even discuss when I put things in safe, logical places. They're safe all right. >.< And as for remembering important, personal information? Hah!

Oh well! At least I can say with 100% certainty that I would never misplace one of the kidlets. That's what's important, right?

I'm scatterbrained on the little things - keys, cell, glasses, etc. But in general, no at all.
