Book review #4 A Stroke of Midnight, by Laurell K. Hamilton

Disclaimer: all my own view, nothing against the author of the book at all.

I really ought to pay more attention to the short snippets about the book before the first chapter. You'd think I'd learn that if people keep saying words relating to smush, the book will have smush in it.

It sounded fun, with faries in, a princess, guards. It's written in the first person, and reads very well. Only the princess is very much in love with her guard. Guards. Because no-one in this world marries unless they are pregnant, and they um yes well *blushes* with their guards until this occurs.

I don't need to say any more. I stopped reading. I'm sure it's very good for its genre. Just not my cup of tea. A bit too open in some areas.

*makes mental note to stop reading if there are clear warnings of strong smush*
